The journal was inspired by the fiction written by Sigrid Marrianne Gayangos entitled The Last of the Sama Sellang. The context of the journal is to show the emotions of the speaker in the fiction, with accordance to the events in the fiction specially the speakers reaction about what had happened to the sama-sellang, and how it disturbed the emotions of the speaker.
